CUTS Magazine being native to Jersey City, has to be overtly selective about cosigning the local talent on our magazine to maintain a global reach and perspective. If we start pigeonholing ourselves for the sake of local promotion we wouldn’t be the powerhouse we are today. PeteyxKraze has always been on our radar and with a recent barrage of appearances and hard work we’ve finally come to crown the dynamic duo within our pages.
What remains consistent with artists PeteyxKraze is their remarkable adaptation to sound. Their ability to compliment each other on any record gives praise to their keen ears and in-the-pocket flow structure. This piece entitled Safehouse featuring 070 Phi was not only a sonic masterpiece, but was visually a work of high quality production. What made this release special was the organic Jersey ambience and local aesthetic that spoke clear to the familiar eye, as well as the all around energetic taste of the record itself. With cameos from local friends and family like Photographer Andy Mac and Kast Revo, of 7TRiiiBES, Safehouse was a positive success that has paved the way for a dope summer drop, and another staple in the artists’ sonic catalogue.
