I could imagine rapper Cid Vishiz thrashin’ about somewhere in his spare time to the sounds of double drum pedals and guitar riffs. However, his music is without a doubt, a cultured form of hiphop that braces the balance between aggressive lyricism and heavy melody. A Tacoma, WA resident and one-half of rap group Sleep Steady, Cid brings the art of rap with an abstract delivery and energy. It was dope to experience the homie Cid stretch his craft into a solo mission, to where his true technique and skill level can be viewed directly. This track entitled “Skunk” (Prod. by Sake and the Wild Dutchman) is designed for the hardcore palette, and brings about a graphic nature as soon as the first drum kicks. Aggression is nothing without lyricism, and Cid Vishiz is equipped with both sword and shield. Peep.
